Elizabeth's Work

So proud my daughter figured out how to write her whole name. It has 9 letters and z's are hard! The picture on the right shows her and David.  She said they are best friends.  She also said that she wants to be an artist when she grows up.  Thanks to Mrs. Berends at preschool for teaching her to love art and drawing!

Let the fun begin

Decorating pumpkins with daddy! He is the best carver ever!  I will post a final picture when we actually light them on Wednesday night.
Fun at the Rec center on Friday night  - we also went to the IMU with the Greeks on Sunday afternoon.  It was a great weekend of Halloween crafts, candy, costumes, and carving!
It was a thrill to go to David's class and help pass out treats, lead BINGO, and do a craft with the kiddos.  We began the festivities with a parade.  Elizabeth got to come along too!  David is in the Iron Man costume!  Elizabeth is a peacok.  It was one of my favorite costumes.  The photo doesn't do it justice!

Preschool Fun

Elizabeth loved bringing the preschool buddy bear home!  Right away she went into her room and started getting each bear all ready!  She wanted a picture with her and all her bears.  The bear can be a girl or a boy and she insisted on a picture with the bear dressed as a boy and a girl!

Hawk Tailgate with Grandpa and Grandma Herman

On Saturday we got to a tailgate with Grandpa and get all Hawkeyed out!  We got to ride the train too, but neither my mother or I had a camera or a cool phone.  This picture is from a nice lady who asked if she could tweet about my kids and if I was on twitter, which I am not.  The second photo from a lady asking if she could put us on facebook.  The women were both over 60.  I am so not with it. But thanks to them I have a few photos!

Bloomsbury Farm 2012

The kids had a great time going to the pumpkin patch this year.  We really like the one in Atkins, Iowa.  It is a little pricey, but there is a lot to do!
Jumping on the bouncy pillow - Elizabeth's favorite activity

Riding bikes - David's favorite activity

Riding around in barrels while a tractor pulled them

Going on a hayrack ride - mommy's favorite - It was a BEAUTIFUL day!
 My two not-so-little-anymore pumpkins!

A picture with Daddy in it -- that is a feat!!!

Preschool Fall Fun

In September Grandpa Herman got to come from Grandparents Day.  Elizabeth made cookies and wrote Grandpa a note inviting him to come.  She was her usual quiet self, but I know she was thrilled to have her Grandpa there!  Afterward, I picked them up and got to take Grandpa out for lunch!  It was a special day.  I don't ever remember when it is Grandparent's Day though without preschool's help!
Elizabeth got to take her first field trip of the year.  She enjoys riding on the bus and enjoyed the hike that they took.  I wished I could go with her, like I did last year, but working in the mornings this year doesn't allow me to get in on any of the fun preschool outings!  Next year, I can't wait to volunteer weekly in her class in kindergarten.
Sitting with Greyson on the bus.  She talks about him a lot.

It was a VERY cold and windy day, but just a few days before it was in the 70s.  Elizabeth had a hat, but we forgot to send mittens.  And it was cold!  It was cute because she was very proud that morning that she was wearing pink from head to toe.  Even her down to her underclothes!
Back at school building and playing cars.  I don't know if it is because she has a brother or if she just likes those toys better, but she LOVES to play with cars and to build Legos, buildings, etc.  She does like to play dolls and dress up, but she REALLY likes her cars.  Of course, she does expect them to be pink and purple!
